Postdoctoral Scholar to pursue continued research experience and training within the Department of Neuroscience; conducts independent research under the guidance of his/her scientific mentor to investigate neuronal and non-neuronal strategies for brain and spinal cord repair; independently designs new analytical approaches and tools; performs experiments; independently develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; collects data and participates in writing grant proposals; participates in writing manuscripts for publication; trains staff in techniques; collaborates and seeks expertise from other labs; attends and presents research at local, national and international scientific conferences, workshops and seminars; supervise Graduate and Undergraduate students in the laboratory.

Minimum Education and Experience:

PhD or equivalent degree required; significant experience in neuron biology, electrophysiology and microscopy preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
